How the pilot works

From application to daily calls, here is what happens.

Proxi works with each caregiver hand-in-hand. The application tells us whether this first pilot is a reasonable fit. If it is, the real work starts only after informed consent, onboarding, voice recording, and caregiver approval.

What it costs

What it costs you: nothing during the pilot.

The pilot is completely free. No credit card, no fees, no catch.

And here is our promise to the families who help us build Proxi: any feature we later charge other families for stays free to you for the duration of the commercial offer extended to you. You helped build it, so you keep it. That is our thank-you.

  1. You apply, and we review the fit

You complete the full screening application. The Proxi reviewer sees the caregiving and fit answers under a blinded application number, meaning an application ID instead of your name. Your identity stays with the recruiting organization unless the application is accepted and released.

If the pilot is not the right fit right now, we say so plainly and kindly. Some people may be a better fit for a later version.

  2. We may ask the recruiter to follow up

If something needs clarification, Proxi sends the recruiter specific follow-up flags and questions. The recruiter contacts you, collects the answers, and attaches the result to the blinded application.

  3. You read and sign informed consent

If you are accepted, we send a plain-language informed consent document. That means you can read it, ask questions, schedule a call to walk through it, and then sign electronically. Nothing else happens until consent is complete.

  4. Welcome meeting and setup

You meet with the Proxi team by video or phone. We explain the program, answer questions, and help set up the dedicated phone number your loved one will use. We also make sure safety reachback and caregiver contact details are correct.

  5. You tell Proxi about your loved one

On your own time, you have a guided conversation about your loved one: who they are, what they like, what routines and worries they have, what calms them, and what topics to avoid. The point is to help Proxi be present for them in a way that sounds like family, not like a chart.

  6. You record natural phone audio

For about a week or two, you call your loved one as you normally would. We need enough natural phone conversation to build a voice model that sounds like you. You do not need to script anything.

  7. You listen to the voice and approve it

We build a voice that sounds like you. You listen to it, talk with it, and approve it before it is ever used with your loved one. If it does not sound right, we adjust it.

  8. Calls together first

When you are ready, Proxi can answer in your voice while you listen along. You can take over at any moment, correct Proxi in real time, or simply listen and see how it goes.

  9. Then Proxi can take some calls on its own

After enough calls together, you may decide you are comfortable letting Proxi handle some calls without you on the line. You choose when that happens, and you can switch back to listening along whenever you want.

  10. You can pause, change, or stop

You can withdraw, meaning leave the pilot study, at any time. If your loved one's situation changes, we have a gentle close-out process and make sure the program ends cleanly.

What Proxi does not do

  • We do not handle medical emergencies on our own.
  • We do not make care decisions for you.
  • We do not share your voice or your loved one's information outside the team and partners running this pilot.
  • We do not charge you for participation in this pilot.
